The Institute of Construction Industry Arbitrators (ICIArb), formerly known as Society of Construction Industry Arbitrators (SCIARB), was established in 1993 as a specialist Arbitration and Alternative Disputes Resolution (ADR) body in the Construction Industry.

The Institute is the leading arbitral institution in the Construction Industry in Nigeria. The Institute was inaugurated on the 15th of October 1993, as a multi-disciplinary organisation with members drawn from the professions related to the Construction Industry.

As a specialised alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body, it provides a one-stop shop for the resolution of disputes specific to the construction industry arising from disputes in construction contracts through arbitration, mediation, conciliation and other methods of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Our approach to dispute resolution is aimed at freeing the industry from a litigious environment as well as reducing the uncertainties inherent in construction related disputes through innovative settlement strategies.

To date ICIArb has over 700 members located in various parts of the Country, down to the remote ends. Indeed, wherever, any aspect of construction is taking place in Nigeria, there is an ICIArb member somewhere within the same locality.
